If you want to lose weight, and that stubborn belly fat, then you need to make some changes in your life right now.  Weight loss is not about a new year resolution, or a wish to ‘do this’ – it is about taking action, and using the right methods.

Whether you are using Fat Loss 4 Idiots, Strip That Fat or Warp Speed Fat Loss, you need to stick to it, and aim for long term results!  For sure, when it comes to fat loss, there are NO magic pills or a quick fix.  It takes effort, time and a willingness to make it happen everyday.

Below are 5 tips to always keep in mind -

    1. Eat out half as much.  The average person eats out 4 times a week (now, that’s too many) – with fast food outlets the most likely destination.  Every meal away from home represents an estimated 1500KJ above what you would normally have at your own table – that’s a potential 18 pounds weight gain in a year.  So stay home and cook, and pack your own lunch for work.  Replace just 2 meals each week and you can lose 9 pounds annually. Hence the key here is to get organized and plan your meals in advance.  Not only can you lose weight, you’ll save plenty of money!

    2. If you haven’t realised this before – Eating plenty of veggies and fruits are good for you.  Not only is it nutritionally beneficial, but the fiber boost you get will keep you fuller longer.  But if you hate veggies, especially when they are steamed or boiled, and would prefer to take just vitamin supplements to get your nutrients – forget it!  Scientists and experts agree that a vitamin could never replace good food – Fresh foods are simply nutritionally well packaged.  And if you still can’t get your head over the taste of vegetables, research shows that trying a certain food 10 to 20 times will get your taste-bud used to it.  So unless you have an allergy, it’s a matter of try, try and try again!  Steamed or plain veggies can be boring even to health fanatics, so boost the flavor with Asian, Italian or Indian herbs and spices.  You may never like all veggies, but if you can get the recommended five different types in to your diet each day, then you should get all the vitamins you need for your body.

    3. Keeping your weight down is all about damage control, not deprivation – who wants to go through life without a restorative glass of wine or beer, a few pieces of chocolate or some ripe, mouth watering cheese?  But slimming without sacrifice means making sensible choices – that is, knowing where to draw the line with what you eat and bumping up your incidental exercise to offset your indulgence.  Losing weight is about a mission to balance your food intake and maintaining your weight control – so taking a long term approach in these areas is the best way to guarantee lasting results.

    4. Exercise regularly, and exercise hard using a combination of Interval Training and Compound strength training.  This kind of workout are far more effective for fat burning than the traiditonal cardio workout and isolation resistance training like crunches and bicep curls.

    5. Giving up that little hit of sugar in your tea or coffee may seem a sacrifice, until you realize that 2 teaspoon feels in 3 daily cups represent a massive 8 pounds of weight in 1 year.  So replace sugar with sweeteners or give it up altogether and you’ll trim down and have more stable blood glucose.

The above tips are just some of the ways on how to get a flat belly.  At the end of the day, you need to prioritise what you want out this.  And if you do know what you want – set the plans into action by following the tips above – and look at more ways to improve your health.  This is how to get a flat belly.
