How Timeshares Work
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsMost people, upon hearing of timeshares, think of timesharing scams or dubious timeshare salesmen trying to rob you of your fortune. The truth of the matter, though, is that most people are likely asking themselves what timeshares really are. To put it as simply as possible, a timeshare is a resort, condominium, villa, or similar structure that is owned by multiple parties.
The parties are given certain periods of time wherein they own the timeshare for a specific week or weekend in a given year. Some people may be asking “what is timeshare good for when you have to cohabitate a house with other people?” This is the main reason for people not wanting to participate in purchasing a timeshare; the idea that the house is not really yours even though you pay for it.
A timeshare is like any other resort or building that somebody lives in. The difference is that, instead of one or two owners, there are several dozen or more.
Visiting a good timeshare website help to give you an idea of what the relationship is between a timeshare and a timeshare renter or owner. You don’t have to go out and buy some timeshare to enjoy the benefits of timeshares – you can always rent timeshares from others. The truth is, it’s not really that difficult to get a grasp of how timeshares work.
The one driving force behind the appeal of timeshares is the fact that you are able to visit places you never dreamed you’d ever set foot upon. Timeshares make dream homes affordable for everyone. However, it does not mean that only the educated calss find timeshares appealing.
People of all walks of life enjoy timeshares mainly because, if done correctly, purchasing a timeshare can help you to save quite a lot of money during your vacation. A timeshare property, like a vacation home, is owned by more than one person. So give it a try and make your dream vacations come true.

How To Get Fit In Your Own Home
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsIf you want to learn how to get fit in the comfort of your own home, then this article was written for you. In particular, we’re going to talk about using a treadmill to get fit, using an elliptical trainer, and using an exercise bike. By the time you have finished reading this guide, you’ll know which type of “in-home” gym equipment is best for you.
Let’s start by talking about treadmills. This piece of equipment simulates walking or running, and can easily be used in your own home. Just 30 minutes a day can be great for your health, although it may be challenging at first. If you work up to this gradually each day, you are sure to see results quickly. The downside is that they can be rather expensive – so make sure you check out treadmill reviews before you buy.
Next, let’s talk about using an elliptical machine. This can be a better alternative for some people because it’s easier on the joints. Using your elliptical for around 30 minutes a day can boost your metabolism and help you to lose weight. Check elliptical reviews before you settle on any particular brand, to make sure you avoid ones with problems.
Finally, let’s talk about exercise bikes. These devices are similar to ellipticals, although they are usually some differences. The great thing about exercise bikes is you can easily watch your favorite TV show while you’re exercising to make the time go quicker. You will eventually start to feel healthier, fitter, and have more energy. However, if your goal is to lose weight – remember that your diet also needs to be healthy. You don’t want to ruin your fitness efforts by eating a poor diet! Also, make sure you check out exercise bike reviews before you buy.

What to Do About External Hemorrhoids
Posted on September 28th, 2009 No commentsPractically no one wants to talk about hemorrhoids. Neither does anyone want to have them. However, if you have hemorrhoids you really need to find out what to do about them.
When you search for info about the problem you will find tons of potions, ointments, creams and potions that offer relief. When you try them you soon find out that many don’t work at all. Those that do work are only effective for a day or so and then you have to apply it again.
What you are really looking for is not a perpetual short-term treatment but a long-term cure for hemorrhoids.
The best treatment for external hemroids will be found amongst those treatments that focus on the cause, the long-term cure of the condition rather than those that push a temporary relief product that they want you to keep on buying forever.
Hemorrhoids aren’t contagious, they are environmental in origin. There are certain things you do, ways you treat your body that increase the chances of hemorrhoids. There are other things you can do to decrease the chances of getting hemorrhoids or, having cured them, of keeping them from coming back.
Professionals in the business will be pleased to sell you short-term feel-better solutions as long as you buy them. Curing hemorrhoids would cost them a customer, lower their incomes. No one is as interested in your being cured as you are!
You can Wholly natural cure for hemorrhoids once and for all if you look for how to do that and avoid getting “suckered into” paying for solutions that offer only short term relief, that you have to buy over and over again.

Demolition
Posted on September 28th, 2009 No commentsIntroduction
Taking down old buildings and replacing them with new is a process that has been going on for thousands of years. The destruction of buildings might have occurred during battles or attacks on communities; or due to natural disturbances such as earthquakes or volcanic activity. The resultant ruins would need to be removed and rebuilt. So the idea of demolition would have come about where a population wished to re-inhabit a specific area or site. (One famous example is the Holy Temple in Jerusalem which was deliberately destroyed by the Assyrians around 586 BCE. After 50 years of occupation the Jews returned to Jerusalem and began the re-construction of the second temple which took seventy years to complete.)
However the actual word to demolish only came into being in 1570, and was used from then on to mean the deliberate taking down or destroying of a building or structure.
Preserving the past – preparing the future.
In a country like Britain with very dense populations per square mile, there is a limited amount of land available for building. The land between built up areas of the villages and towns is known as Green Belt and is protected from development to preserve the agricultural and natural heritage which is vital to the economy of the country.
The outcome of this policy is that there is a constant shortage of land for housing and industry, so the developers have to be more creative when providing structures for the population. One of the ways of doing this is to find places where the buildings are no longer commercially viable or have been abandoned, and re-use the area for different purposes. These areas are known as brownfield, or greyfield sites. In some cities, particularly Leeds and Manchester, the old warehouses or factories have been converted into apartments, retaining the original shell and reconfiguring the internal dimensions into desirable living accommodation.
Brownfield sites are disused industrial and commercial facilities where the land may be contaminated with hazardous waste or pollution. They are potentially valuable for significant redevelopment once they have been cleaned up. Greyfield sites are urban properties that have been underutilised or abandoned, but do not have the environmental issues of brownfield sites. They were termed greyfield sites because of large areas of asphalt that covered the land. These sites are valuable because they already have the infrastructure such as water, sewage, electricity and gas in place and do not need remedial work to exploit the site.
When a structure is to be removed there are different ways of approaching the task. The size and construction of the building, the new use of the site and whether there are valuable elements suitable for re-use, will all determine how it is to be demolished.
Traditional Demolition
Traditionally, once all the services were disconnected, the machinery and men would go in and just knock down the walls which caused the roof to collapse and then drag all the debris away. Any concrete hard standing would be broken up ready for removal. The traditional excavation procedure would involve the clearing of rubbish to landfill sites. However modern demolition practices are very controlled and are subject to strict planning, safety and monitoring regulations.
Small structures such as two or three storey houses can be dismantled quite easily with hydraulic excavators and bulldozers using an undermining process. The walls are undermined at the base, in order to topple the structure; at the same time the manner and direction of the fall is controlled. Clean-up and safety issues are also taken into account when determining how the building will be undermined and demolished.
Larger buildings such as tower blocks and chimneys require more specialist techniques, and are outlined below.
Deconstruction
A new approach to demolishing buildings is deconstruction – a green approach. The aim is to diminish the amount of waste going to landfill sites by carefully preserving valuable materials for reuse. The work may be a painstaking task of dismantling by hand – brick by brick – or beam by beam. The reclaimed materials are then recycled or re-used for future buildings. The results of deconstruction can save in excess of 90% waste from going to a landfill site. When the farmer opposite to my house sold his farm yard with barns for housing, the builder demolished the barns, cleaned up the bricks and reused them for the perimeter wall of the farmhouse. At the time I was looking for some rubble as a base for a path and the builder let me take several barrow loads off his pile.
Recycling
Historically when old buildings were ruined from disuse or war damage the local people would gradually remove the stone and use it to build their new structures such as houses or barns. Hadrian’s wall between Carlisle and Newcastle has mostly disappeared because after the Romans left, the local population made off with the beautifully dressed stone the Roman craftsmen had used in the building of the wall. So even in those days people understood the value of recycling because it was much cheaper than having to quarry and dress the stone themselves.
At one time the rubble resulting from a demolished building would be taken to a landfill site for disposal. Now however concrete can be rapidly broken up with the latest machine called a guillotine and the resultant rubble can be crushed and used as sub-base material for the foundation of the new building which is to replace the old, or sent to other construction sites. These days this crushed rubble is called 6f2 crushed stone or 6f2 crushed material.
Modern machinery and techniques allows the demolition companies to efficiently segregate waste types on or off-site. Wherever possible construction materials are recycled and re-used in the new structure. Recycling of waste contributes to a considerable savings in project costs and is good for the environment.
When we renovated our bungalow 20 years ago the builder, who was a bell ringer, found an old beam from a bell tower that was being renovated, and after carefully treating it, installed it in the kitchen. It gave the room some badly needed character and has never needed any further treatment.
Copper pipes, wiring, roof tiles or slates, floor tiles and doors, and wood panelling are some of the valuable artifacts that are saved for recycling and re-use. There are specialist yards in many towns where reclaimed old or antique artefacts are available for purchase.
Tall Buildings
The demolition work of very high structures requires skilled techniques. In some cases a wrecking ball on a crane may be used to demolish the top part of a tall building until it is down to a manageable height. However this process is rarely used by professional demolition companies today due to the uncontrollable factor of the swinging ball and the proximity of other buildings.
Other methods of demolition of tall buildings are by implosion using explosives, controlled collapse and piecemeal. Also ‘High Reach’ demolition excavators are used where explosives are not appropriate. Once the building is down to a more manageable height demolition continues in the usual way.
The steeplejack Fred Dibnah became famous in the late 1970’s for his work on demolishing tall chimneys without the need for explosives. He would cut an ingress at the base of the chimney, use wooden props to support the brickwork and then burn the props so that the chimney toppled hopefully in the right direction.
The tallest building to be lawfully demolished was the Singer Building of New York in 1967/8. More recently the collapse of the World Trade Centre after the 9/11 attack in 2001 shows the terrible devastation that could occur if the demolition is not controlled and very carefully contained.
In the demolishing of tall buildings and large structures water hoses and spray equipment is used to control the dust and would is termed a wet demolition.
Explosions
What comes to mind for many people when they think about demolition would be the dramatic collapse of a tall building using explosives. However it is usually the process of implosion, using explosives, that brings down a tall building so that it does as little damage as possible to the surrounding environment. Implosion is essential for dense urban areas and is very fast, the collapse taking only seconds, with the building dropping inwards into its own footprint.
Using explosives is specialist work and is a very skilled process and getting it wrong can be disastrous. If an implosion is not prepared correctly the danger may be damage to neighbouring structures or even killing onlookers from flying debris. Even more dangerous is a partial collapse of a building where the remaining structure is unstable and there are still primed explosives that failed to go off. Workers are in great danger if or when continuing the demolition.
Other dangers of working with explosives occurs when the atmospheric pressure from low cloud above the implosion site will cause the shockwave to spread outwards instead of upwards. The wave of energy and sound created will break windows and cause other damage to the surrounding buildings.
Because of the dangers of working with explosives, implosion will only be used when other methods are too costly or impractical.
Health and Safety
Demolition of any building is highly dangerous and is a much more complicated and technical process than most people would realise. Experienced and skilled operators are essential to ensure safety for both workers and public alike. The stability of any structure is reliant on the interdependence of its component parts, so an incorrect sequence of dismantling could result in an unplanned collapse.
Health and safety is paramount in demolition work so personnel working in the industry have to be adequately trained. It is advisable for operatives to have gained a Certificate of Competence in Demolition to ensure they have the necessary skills and safety awareness. All demolition work is regulated by the Construction, Design and Management Regulations.
Sequence of Demolition
There has to be a sequence of actions before any demolition can take place. Each area council will have their own specific list for planning approval, but a typical order would be as follows:-
- Provision of Information
The demolition company must provide information about the construction to be demolished, its previous use and the appropriate demolition method to be applied including disposal of hazardous substances. - Survey of Demolition
Identification of any structural problems as well as risks associated with hazardous or flammable substances ,asbestos is classified as hazardous and an asbestos survey should be performed if asbestos is thought to be present.Where petrol has been stored, in a disused garage for example, precautions need to be taken to prevent a fire hazard. - Preferred and Safe Method of Work
A reputable company involved in demolition will be able to select the appropriate method of disposal. Planning and outlining the dismantling process is necessary for assiduous monitoring. A detailed statement outlining the safety process needs to be agreed by all parties involved before any demolition can take place. - Preparation and Planning
There is a lot of preparation to be done before starting work on demolishing the building itself. Issues such as asbestos abatement, disconnecting utilities, rodent baiting, dealing with hazardous substances and making safe any electric, gas or other services have to be resolved. - Protection of the Public
Where demolition is carried out in heavily populated areas the protection of the public is paramount. Safety cannot be compromised. Temporary services may need to be arranged, health hazards assessed and people inconvenienced will need to be informed.
Conclusion
The word ‘demolish’ is interpreted as the deliberate and controlled collapse of a structure. Demolition work is a very hazardous business and demolishing any building is a complex and skilled process. The aim in demolition is to remove an unwanted building as safely and quickly as possible, recycle or re-use most of the old material, and clear the site ready for the subsequent use.
In the centre of Nottingham over the last few years there has been a major reconstruction of what was an old car park into a brand new shopping development. While this was going on the public were only really aware of the boarding around the area, a change in traffic direction and maybe some big lorries going in and out of the site.
So the next time you see houses being demolished to make way for the new, give a thought to the company involved who’s team are daily working in a dangerous environment, adhering to all of the regulations and carefully and meticulously carrying out the project to bring us the modern conveniences we have come to expect and clearing the way for the future.

Why Shaving For Men Should Be Joyful!
Posted on September 28th, 2009 No commentsFor men shaving is a part of their routine life and it can be really dreadful. It is not a pleasant experience. Most of the men won’t spend much time or thought to shaving since they will be in a hurry to do it and go to work. Here we are going to see few tips which will help men to have a wonderful experience while shaving. If shaving is done properly it can even be done everyday. To begin with it is most nesessary that the shaving area is wet.
So make sure that you wash your face some time before you start shaving. It is better to use warm water to wash your face. This will give better results while shaving. The next step is to apply the shaving gel or foam. There are plenty of brands which are available but it is recommended to use the squeeze tube rather than the foams which come in cans. The next important factor is the shaving razor. Again this comes in various types and brands. If the number of blades are many their are more chances for skin burns. If their are multiple blades there are more chances for skin bumps and irritations.
What is more importantis the angle of the blade and the efficiency of it. Another important point is to always shave in the direction of hair growth. Most of the time men are in a hurry shaving and do not give much importance to the shaving factors. It seems because of the rushing they end up having a horrible experience shaving and become hesitate to shave daily.
Also keep in mind that in the name of cost cutting do not try using disposible razors over and over washing the used blades with warm water will give a longer life to the blades. After shaving it is better to wash your face with cold water. Then follow with a good quality after shaving lotion. This most likely give you a pleasant shaving experience that hopefully all men would start doing it daily.

A Few Helpful Suggestions for Choosing The Best Monoculars For Star Gazing
Posted on September 28th, 2009 No commentsCost can be a prohibitive factor in many interests but not star gazing when in the beginning it doesn’t have to cost you a cent – so if you are interested, read on. While it is true that it simple is free, what else do you need to find out what exists outside our home, that is the earth? You will be pleased to learn that all that’s required is a star chart which will be available in almost any book on astronomy or astrology for that matter.
Today’s mini binoculars are much lighter than earlier versions in the 70’s. Today binoculars are miles ahead of their early predecessors. Of course this can create a little confusion so be sure to read our how to buy binoculars free video.
Some zodiac charts are easy to understand while others are in the shape of a wheel with many intersecting lines that may be harder to comprehend for a beginner. Almost every planetarium or observatory will have simple and complex charts but you really need the simplest to begin with because you can fill in the stars not illustrated.
When it comes time to purchase a telescope then the best advice is to avoid cheap scopes (the sort children are given) that quite frankly will spoil your vision of looking at the stars. Even if you buy one, the revolving earth would make the star disappear in such a split second that you would continue your search from the beginning all over again. This will frustrate you and before the night is over the telescope will be back in its box.
My second idea is a far cheaper option but one that will bring many nights of star gazing and all you need to do here is lend, borrow or buy a normal 10×50 set of binoculars. This type of power and field of view will enable you to see whole constellations easily in addition to a much improved view of the moon and some of our planets. Luck is also on your side as almost every school, but certainly each town has a library and this is your best resource for free literature on the stars, star gazing, the Universe and the Solar System. Books that contain good start charts should be the preferred target and don’t worry too much if you cannot get the latest edition because as far as you are concerned, the stars will not have moved or changed.
As a start, when looking through the book, find the Southern Cross and once you have done this, see if you can do the same when you look in the sky. While the Southern Cross, as the name suggests lies in the South, the Orion can be seen traveling from the East to the West, as night passes. Sometimes it will not be possible to see it especially when it is only visible very late at night or early morning hours.
Do you need to read a lot I hear you ask? Not really, but the moment you start to explore the stars, you will want to know more about them, where they come from and probably where they are going. Such information is available in plenty in children’s’ books which are full of some rudimentary information on the subject.
All you need to begin this adventure called star gazing is a star chart and at least in the early days this should be enough for you to get an idea if it’s something you want to pursue further. And only then you could do with binoculars and once you know why stars move, where they go to and more then buy yourself a proper telescope.

Is there a safe Energy Drink?
Posted on September 28th, 2009 No commentsThe Energy drink Market is fraught with peril! You now have to attempt to navigate a huge assortment of potentially Dangerous products to try and fin even one that works that won’t put you in the hospital. Below you will see just a few of the excerpts from the FREE report Dying For Energy! the Life Threatening Dangers of the Energy Drink Market. But thank goodness there is an alternative, which you will learn about in the Free Report.
Please read the following short excerpts to get a small taste of the secrets the Energy Drink Market doesn’t want you to EVER know about. Energy drinks have become increasingly popular, especially with teens and young adults, and more than 500 new energy drinks have launched worldwide last year. But experts are questioning whether people are harming their health by drinking them.
Most energy drinks are just marketing ploys, according to Mark Kantor, professor of family and consumer sciences and nutrition at the University of Maryland, who specializes in consumer education. “I’m not aware of any scientific data that they do what they say they’re going to do,” He said “They don’t give you more energy.” For the most part, they are nothing much more than a can full of caffeine and a lot of sugar.Taken from: enzyme-health blogspot/2009/02/vitamin-supplement-paradox
The concept of the “energy drink” is a relatively new phenomenon. Brands such as Red Bull, Venom, Rockstar and Monster began appearing in the last few decades and have become extremely popular among young people. But new research by John’s Hopkins presents a stark warning about these so-called “high energy” soft drinks: many of them contain levels of caffeine high enough to endanger your physical health.
While many researchers believe that a small amount of caffeine (such as found in the ubiquitous morning cup of coffee) can actually be good for you, Roland Griffiths, a researcher from Johns Hopkins, points out that most energy drinks contain upwards of 10 mg of caffeine per each ounce. This amounts to 14 times more caffeine than in the average soft drink. It is the equivalent of drinking 7 cups of regular caffeinated coffee within a five-minute period.Taken from: romow.com/health-blog/common-but-dangerous-eye-diseases/
Some trendy new energy drinks are making the rounds these days. But they’re also making some people sick. Attorney Mike Bryant has a revealing report on the reason why in today’s Consumer Pay-off.
Most people don’t seem to know what’s in it, but Red Bull and other energy drinks are powerful stimulants that can have some pretty sobering side effects. And their catchy ads are making Red Bull a hit with teens too!Taken from:telepixtvcgi.warnerbros/dailynews/consumer/12_00/12_07

AARP CAR, Homeowners, and Life Info
Posted on September 28th, 2009 No commentsHere is a tip that I learned just recently – it blew me away also you find with this advice you’ll enjoy your life a lot more even after 50 years of age. To be honest right now I am loving life.
Here are 3 simple steps I’ll lay this out to you very clearly just how simple it is to come across the cheapest car, homeowners, and life insurance policies. Then I’ll tell you where this list of lowest prices can be found that I’ve researched and found from all over the net. I consider myself pretty lucky to have come across something so helpful in life; now that it’s half way over.
Step 1: Looking for car insurance and a company policy; AARP Car Insurance is at least one of the companies that you consider. They will go pretty far to accommodate you since more and more they are being funded by the government to get their funding. It is surprising what companies will do for you when every client means more funding from the government.
Step 2: AARP Homeowners Insurance is next. Sorry guys this one is a no brainer when you’ve done the research for low-end quotes and how much their policy covers. When you reach the bottom of this article you’ll see a resource link that will take you to the lowest rates and insurance quotes.
Step 3: This next step is where we’ll look at life insurance. This step is different from the first. I used AARP Car Insurance and AARP Homeowners Insurance for the last 2 steps, but AARP Life Insurance really should be in consideration. They like some few other companies receive aid from the federal government, but other companies on the list I have for you in the link below also receive funding.
Here are the easy steps to follow. Now look below and you’ll see a link that will take you to all the quotes and what the insurance policies cover. Be reminded that there are somethings that you could do without in your policy so make sure in this case to look at several different policies on the list to get the insurance that is right for you.
Now I personally am with AARP Car Insurance, AARP Homeowners Insurance and AARP Life Insurance too, however this is clearly not the best choice for everyone. I chose them because AARP still has subcategories that depending on your qualification status you can still save even more. Let me show you now how to get the lowest rate in each category and pretty much bargain with them for your prices.
